Aircraft owners

Aircraft leaseback
in Maryland.

Explore making your aircraft available to approved Advantage Aero Club members at Montgomery County Airpark (KGAI). Discuss a rental or leaseback arrangement that balances member utilization, owner access, operating costs, and coordinated aircraft management.

A flying community around your aircraft.

Bring your aircraft into a club where approved pilots and students have a clear path to scheduling, aircraft access, and coordinated operations.

Utilization

Rental income opportunities

Make your aircraft available for member flying and suitable training. Rental activity may contribute toward fixed ownership expenses such as insurance, hangar or tiedown, and inspections.

We will review likely use, an appropriate wet rental rate, revenue allocation, and the costs associated with additional flying.

Scheduling

Keep visibility and owner access

Organize reservations through FlightSchedulePro, with access for approved users. Discuss how owner flying, advance reservations, downtime, and longer bookings will fit into the schedule.

Owner access and booking priorities are agreed before the aircraft joins the program.

Pilot approval

A defined checkout process

Member approval, aircraft checkout, pilot qualifications, and applicable insurance requirements establish who may operate your aircraft.

Training use and instructor authorization are reviewed for the aircraft and the proposed arrangement.

Operations

Support with daily coordination

Scheduling visibility and discrepancy reporting help organize day-to-day use. We will agree how aircraft status, cleaning, fueling, keys, and member communications are handled.

Aircraft care

Clear maintenance responsibilities

Define how inspection planning, reported discrepancies, maintenance scheduling, and aircraft downtime are coordinated. Agree who authorizes work and how maintenance costs are allocated.

More use also means additional wear and maintenance; engine and airframe reserves belong in the financial discussion.

An individual agreement

A plan that fits your goals

Each aircraft and owner has different priorities. Review proposed rental activity, owner access, insurance, reporting, and exit terms together before entering a written arrangement.

Rental revenue depends on demand, availability, and operating expenses; it is not a guaranteed passive return.

What should an aircraft owner consider?

What is an aircraft leaseback or rental arrangement?

It is a written arrangement that makes an owner’s aircraft available for agreed member rental or training use. The agreement defines access, rental activity, financial terms, insurance, and operating responsibilities. We review each proposed aircraft and arrangement individually.

Can rental income help offset aircraft ownership costs?

Member rental activity may help offset some ownership costs, but the result depends on demand, aircraft availability, revenue allocation, insurance, maintenance, and engine or airframe reserves. Additional utilization also creates wear and expenses. No income or utilization level is guaranteed.

Can I still fly my own aircraft?

Discuss your personal flying schedule and booking priorities before entering an agreement. Owner access, advance reservations, maintenance downtime, and longer trips should be part of the written operating plan.

Who pays for maintenance and insurance?

Responsibilities, approval of work, expense allocation, insurance coverage, and deductibles are agreed with the owner before member use. The club coordinates the agreed process; the arrangement should make each party’s responsibilities clear.

Which aircraft will the club consider?

Contact us with the aircraft model, location, equipment, approximate airframe and engine times, inspection status, and your goals. Suitability depends on the aircraft, records, approved operations, proposed use, and applicable insurance and pilot requirements.

Where is the club based?

Advantage Aero Club is based at Montgomery County Airpark (KGAI) in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Aircraft owners in the DMV area can contact us to discuss whether placing an aircraft at KGAI fits their ownership and utilization plans.
